Hi. I'm Sandi Bird Aldridge.
Welcome to My Portal where you can access all of my creative endeavors from one page. This page is a work in progress, so come back often. I’ve lived a multi-faceted life that has led me to “do” a great many things, so much so that family and friends have a difficult time keeping up with me. However it is important to remember that who we are is not determined by what we do for a living. Since 1998 I’ve traveled the globe both for ministry and for pleasure. I’ve started a couple successful businesses and a few that were not so successful. I love life, laugh often and always remind myself to be thankful for the blessings in my life.
So, Who Am I?...
Since 2002, Sandi has worked as an emergency & disaster response first responder under contract to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). In addition to her disaster work, Sandi is a freelance writer, speaker, freelance business and pharmaceutical auditor and a consultant to up and coming writers to help them maneuver the self-publishing process.
In the past, Sandi co-owned an independent publication company, served in private industry as an LPN for 20+ years and in the non-profit, humanitarian sector, both in the US and internationally, since 1983.
Sandi’s educational background is varied and includes computer programming, training as an LPN, a Master's in Theology, training as an executive protection specialist in the private security industry and wilderness and urban survival training.
An avid traveler, Sandi’s personal and humanitarian pursuits have led her to 13 countries, visiting both industrialized and developing nations on four continents. Those experiences, which include having been caught in rioting in both Peru and Uganda, have taught her to adapt to situations well outside of her comfort zone.
Happily married since February 2014, Sandi is the wife, partner and co-laborer to a wonderful man of God, Timothy Aldridge, and they have a passel of children and grandchildren collected throughout the years. Sandi and Tim are active members of their local church. Sandi is a licensed and ordained minister, serves on the board of Christian Collaboration, a 501(c)3 non-profit, and has traveled to Uganda six times as part of a collaborative evangelistic and medical team.
As an avid proponent of educating individuals, families and communities, Sandi is available to minister to churches and community groups as well as to speak on Self-Publishing, Emergency & Disaster Preparedness and various other topics.
